The Culuccia® cape is inspired by the traditional Sardinian cloak Su saccu.This rough accessory garment, made by sewing together two large mirror-image pieces of orbace, served primarily practical purposes. It provided protection for the rider during travels, acted as a blanket during bivouacs, a tablecloth for shepherds' and travelers' countryside meals, or was folded to soften the rigid and angular Sardinian saddle. Culuccia®'s feminine version is made with four shaped panels sewn together in Sardinian wool cloth, resistant to wind and humidity, with natural water repellency. The fixed hood is lined internally with Cordura® nylon, as is the front closure, which features the Matthoneddus tape with five large personalized horn buttons. The cape includes two large side pockets lined with brushed cotton handwarmer fabric, and two external buttons to close the flaps, forming wide sleeves.The inner hanger loop is characterized by the iconic Matthoneddus pattern, typical of the traditional Sardinian saddlebag (Sa Bèrtula). The garment is personalized internally with a QR label woven on a jacquard loom, offering deeper insight into the project and the identity of the piece.
